Villeray

The Lens

Located in Montreal’s Villeray neighborhood, this new single-family residence stands out for its south-facing facade, wrapped in a curved glass-brick screen wall that lets in light while maintaining the occupants' privacy. Its construction required careful attention to the geometry of the curve and the integration of this distinctive element into the building's envelope. The project also involved urban site constraints, notably the preservation of a mature white spruce on the edge of the property. Inside, a floating white steel staircase with glass railings connects the floors around a double-height void, requiring close coordination between the various trades.
